A group of Aligarh Muslim University students and staff distributed blankets to the needy

The blankets were contributed by AMU students and distributed in a camp at the Bab-e-Syed which was visited by AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd); AMU EC Member, Prof Hafiz Iliyas; Ex AMU EC Member, Dr Mohd Shahid and Ex AMU EC Member, Dr Sher Afghan, Principal, Z H College of Engineering and Technology.

While appreciating efforts of the students and encouraging them to work more for such causes, the AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd) told the students that these initiatives are part of Sir Syed’s dreams.

Expressing his sympathy to the poor people; Prof Hafiz Iliyas shared his experience in activism and assured guidance to students, whenever required.Earlier these students donated warm clothes to the slum dwellers at AMU Purani Chungi Gate.

Former VP AMUSU, Syed Umer Qadri; Student Activist, Sayed Avesh and Research Scholar, Shahab Shabbir, supervised the donation drive. The volunteers included Parvez Alam (PhD), Mohd Faraz (PhD), Khurshid Alam (PhD), Sadique Ahmad (PhD), Md Ahsan Khan (PhD), Dr Ammar, Dr Sameer, Tarique Pasha, Md Anas Ansari, Shoeb Ahmad, Mohd Saquib, Moinuddin, Md Arsalan and Shahbaz Khan.v
